Greetings and Welcome to Mindfulness Learning with a Twist!

I’m Candace Hudson-Jackson, CEO of Mindfulness Learning with a Twist, LLC. Thank you for visiting our website. I’m excited to share not only the origins of this unique program but also the deeply personal journey that inspired its evolution during the COVID pandemic.


Over the past few years, especially throughout COVID, I supported some of those closest to me as they faced mental health struggles. Witnessing their challenges up close showed me how vital and powerful mindfulness practices can be for anyone who truly wants to heal and find peace. This experience led me to revamp Mindfulness Learning with a Twist, shifting the focus toward blending mindfulness with positive mental health support to help people find calm and balance in their daily lives.


My commitment to health began over 15 years ago when my mother underwent life-threatening surgery. That pivotal moment ignited my passion for fitness, nutrition, and self-care. But it was not until I discovered yoga and meditation that I found the missing piece—mental wellness. Yoga introduced me to the power of mental exercise, and meditation sharpened my focus, boosted emotional regulation, and built my confidence.

Integrating mindfulness into my life helped me maintain clarity and balance as I navigated the demanding roles of single motherhood, full-time work, and education. In 2013, I began bringing mindfulness to my students, helping create calmer classrooms where creativity flourished and emotional awareness grew. What started as a small classroom practice expanded district-wide as educators embraced the benefits of mindful living.

From these experiences, I founded Mindfulness Learning with a Twist—where we uniquely combine mindfulness practices like breathing exercises, guided imagery, yoga, and journaling with gentle academic support. Our goal is to empower individuals not only to succeed academically but to build the mental and emotional tools needed for lifelong wellness.
